This intricate text piece was my first foray into letterpress printing, and I got to know the Vandercook Proof Press during the process.

The quote is from Leonardo Da Vinci, and is set in Breathe Pro by Maximiliano R. Sproviero. The overall idea is a nod to Miesien purity countered with Philip Johnson’s snarkiness. Which is architecture nerd-speak meaning simplicity written in a complicated way.

Limited edition 5.5"x8.5" letterpress print on Crane's Lettra paper, signed and numbered on the back. Edition of 60.
